As a Muslim Imam, Mario Joseph was well-versed in the Koran and in the teachings of the Islamic religion. In fact, it was precisely the Koran that brought him to an encounter with Jesus Christ and with the truth of the Christian faith. But his conversion did not come without difficulties, and because of it, he has undergone grave persecution.

Modern-Day Islamist Apologists

David Wood writes, In an article, CNN’s Arsalan Iftikhar used Qur’an 5:32 to show that Islam condemns the Fort Hood Massacre. However, Iftikhar massively distorts the verse and rips it completely out of context to achieve his objective. Putting the verse back in context proves that Islam promotes the sort of violence committed by Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

Screenshot (194)As everyone knows, the major media organizations were quick to defend Islam after the Fort Hood Massacre. What is now becoming clear is that some were deliberately deceptive in their efforts to portray Islam as peaceful. For instance, CNN wasted no time publishing an article by “the Muslim Guy,” Arsalan Iftikhar, who began his article as follows:

Most of the world's 1.57 billion Muslims know that the Holy Quran states quite clearly that, "Anyone who kills a human being ... it shall be as though he has killed all of mankind. ... If anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he has saved the lives of all of mankind."

Accordingly, it should come as little surprise to any reasonable observer that when Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan committed his shocking acts of mass murder at Fort Hood, Texas, America's Muslim community of over 7 million felt an added sense of horror and sadness at this senseless attack against the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces.

The problem, of course, is that Iftikhar must massacre 5:32 in order to pretend that it provides proof that Islam forbids killing. In context, and with the omitted sections of the verse reinserted, the verse proves that the Fort Hood Massacre was entirely consistent with the teachings of the Qur’an.

Related: According to the Qur’an, no one can change Allah’s words (6:115; 18:27). Yet Allah himself frequently changes his words by revealing a verse that abrogates (or cancels) an earlier verse (see 2:106; 16:101). Since the Qur’an is supposedly eternal, our Muslim friends have a problem.
